Default My ride

This started as a Club Car golf cart. *That was about 10 yrs ago. Now I got an '84 Yamaha V-Max 540 motor, and many upgrades. EDIT: I was just catching up on my reading. When I first built my golf cart, it was a test platform for a transaxle I made from junk. *The main piece of junk being the gearbox from a '79 SKI-DOO ELITE. That has forward-nuetral-reverse. I cut the diff housing from a VW Golf away from the rest of the trans. Welded magnesium plates to the ends and chopped the secondary shaft off and put a sprocket on it. I wore that diff out. That SKI-DOO box sits high and dry on the latest chop-cut-rebuild you see here. So what ever happened with DBD? *I'll post a thread at Welome-mat now.

Looks good! What is the apparateus on the back?Is it just a secondary support? Are you running a diff or live axle?

Here are some more pics. I made the seat from 3/4in alluminum conduit, and nylon strapping. I needed to save space and weight in a big way. The diff is from an '04 Grizzly front, that I reinforced. It switches from nuetral, to diff, to locked. I was working on rear steering, but gave up for now.

Wow!

That thing is cool. The narrow trail crowd is salivating like Pavlov's pooch.

Thats a radiator. The ends are just .040 alluminum covers. I made it from octagon t-slot tubing that was left over from a display we made.

I'm conflicted. That radiator is a fantastic idea, yet part of me finds it cheesy. Going to have to go with fantastic idea. Any video of it?? I'd love to see it. Almost like someone dropping a 454 in an escort. Makes you wonder why, but can't help but be impressed.

Is it tippy? Appears to have a narrow stance.

We had no power at work today. So I grabbed a co-worker, and we went to Sliver Lake. I tried real hard to tip it. I can spin the ass around going up a dune, down, sidways. I was doing donuts on the side of a dune... no problem! *It LOOKS top heavy. *It's not so much. *Most of the stuff up high is real light. There's an eight gallon gas tank right behind the seat. I don't have any video. I'll work on that.

That was one of my first thoughts - narrow track and very high CoG.

How do you protect the radiator?
