Hey Gang,
Newbie to the site here - Thought I would share a couple pics of my current car, just got it back from powdercoat, fresh chrome, etc. *It's an XTC (michigan based company) 1300-LT model. *Running a 2003 Hayabusa, no mods other than a performance windage tray installed. *TIG welded chromoly frame, 5-Link rear w/Racerunners and bypass's, A-arm front with Pro adjustable coilovers - getting about 14" of travel. *IntelliDash digital gauges and a digital gear indicator mounted in the center of my Grant steering wheel. This car is a blast to drive - used one dune season in Michigan. *Unfortunately the car is up for sale, trying to plan a new build in the future and need a way to fund it. *I thought that someone on here might be interested or know someone who's interested, etc. *Asking $24,500 *or best offer. *Please PM me for more details or additional pics. *I'll see what I can do to post a classified on here or update this post to include all the details. Also, ask any questions, would be happy to answer them for you guys. Thanks and I'll be reading the site more once I plan my next build! ~JD |

Thinking about a single seater or 2 seater mini powered by a Yamaha RX1 Snowmobile engine, push button reverse. *Would like to see about 18 - 20" of travel if possible. *Probably back to a trailing arm design in the rear. *This would be my first attempt at building a chassis from scratch, but I think there is enough info and resources out there to use - MiniBuggy.net being one of them for sure. * That's assuming I can get this one sold first. ![]() ~JD |

Well you know the first challenge and we need say nothing more.
You will not go wrong seriously considering a Rorty R16 Shotgun. It has the suspension features you described and the RX1 is hot stuff. If it were me I would build from plans unless you are a mechanical engineer with the requisite knowledge. Otherwise, the Rorty plans will achieve the desired outcome most efficiently. |

Gene - Yes I will def look into Rorty when the time comes. *Never heard of them, but I see their name on here a few places so I'm assuming it's reputable. *The RX1 engine is suppose to be smooth - only ridden the sled, never a mini powered by one. *A buddy of mine and I are thinking it would be a cool side x side build some day. *It all takes time and money of course! I do have a couple engineers at my disposal that have offered to help with some of the design concepts. *We'll see. *I'm all about making things easier though.
Thanks for the heads up BugPac - I'm located just down the way from you in East Lansing. *If you went to the Michigan Buggy Builders Show I'm sure you saw the car there. *The guys from Remark Industries had it in their booth. ~JD |

Oh ya, hop skip and a jump, lol.....Let me know when your ready to build, Id like to come check it out....Have you and your buddy given any thought to building more than just a dune car? We have a few race tracks within a short distance that will make for some fun this summer? Silver lake gets boring to darn fast....
