Sunday was our last race for the season at the local track and fun as always .
I had the lead for a while, but driver errors lost it. One time I hit a big rut in the long sweeping corner, and lost my grip on the wheel for a split secound sending me towards the trees until I gathered it up. This and several bad corners,,,,,,but I still got secound and had fun. It sure is fun racing 2 cars that are so evenly matched. If you screw up on a corner just a little , and the other guys gets it right,,,,,,,your back to eatin dirt. As always, slow progress.
I am at a trade show in Chicago this week (Facilities Midwest). I've had to travel quite a bit for work the last few weeks. What a shame, everything is painted and waiting to be put together! Im about 20% re-assembled. I zinc plated my wheel hubs and front stubs axles as someone recommended. Unfortunately, things aren't fitting well. I had to sand the plating off to get things to fit! It's amazing what a few microns of plating will do. DOH'. Pictures are coming.... Next time - masking! |

Very nice Proto! Congrats again on your successul design. That video looks like a lot of fun. I wish I lived close enough to get my #1 build out there to run wheel to wheel with you ... or I should say to roost you
You should be real proud of those buggies. Tim |

Thanks Tim. After all the time designing and building, it does feel good to have something perform the way we hoped.
I bet your #1 build would kick arss out there too. It may be a good thing you don't live closer, I have eaten enough roost from my brother this season  Other than the steady stream of dirt, I actually found that running secound and being on the offensive and trying to pass is more exciting than running 1st and being on the defensive. Or maybe thats my way making myself feel better for secound place trophies this year  |

Well I suggest this if I may be so bold ... just for grins when the first race comes next year get out in front and feed him roost all day long and see how that feels. I'll bet you like that too. HA!
Hey you have a successful and proven design, two completed and running buggies (trouble free) and a place to go compete. How could it be any better? And video to boot. Very cool! Cheers! Tim |
