Default Saw juice that won't freeze??

I have a bandsaw that has a built in coolant pump. In the winter the coolant wants to freeze due to garage thats not heated except when I am in it and not always then. Last year the coolant froze but luckily the pump was not damaged and I thawed it out and drained it.

Soooo my question is any ideas on using antifreeze in the mix or does anyone know of saw coolant that will not freeze? Or do I get to draining before it gets realllllly cold?? The coolant I have now get mixed with water but its still more coolant than water. Even the pure stuff freezes when it gets COLD. Thanx Bill

Run a lightweight oil for lube or run the saw dry.

I'd just keep the coolant in a spray bottle, and keep that in the house.
I ran my saw with just the spray bottle for about a year. I finally did fill the tank this summer when I started using it more.
But in winter I keep the shop at 50 when I'm not using it.

I've never used coolant, even at work. as long as you have the right blade and have the saw set up right, it doesn't seem to cause any problems. at work blades would last for several weeks running prolly 4hrs a day as long as some idiot didn't come snd screw it up. If you are the only one using the saw, I would just run it dry in the winter. The spray bottle thing would be good too if you would prefer to use coolant. I have an old fridge with a light bulb in it that I store my paint and stuff in so it doesn't freeze. That would be a good place to keep the spray bottle too so it would never have to leave the shop.

I am thinking the spray bottle is my best bet. I usually do not run the saw very long at a time and I have a few spare blades now. I just thought there may be a fluid thats made not to freeze.
I also wondered scince antifreeze is designed to protect metal that mixing it in would work and not be bad for the cutting process?

Imma go with the spray bottle. Especially scince I have one somewhere...

antifreeze is actually very bad for metal surfaces exposed to air.. It works well in a radiator as it is not exposed... Some rv antifreeze would be the best bet if any was used at all...

I actually have a shitload of RV antifreeze here but still thinking I am just gonna spritz it with a hand bottle. I usually only cut a couple tubes or a piece of angle and then do other stuff for a while.

Just thinking about the coolant I run in the Tig welder, it has some sort of antifreeze in it. Not sure if it would work for a saw. I do know it is clear, and not sure what temp it can go down to, might check into that on your next run to the welding shop.
