Ridgerunners are built from Rangers. It's a good powerpack if you happen to have one laying around. To purchase a powerpack alone is almost as much as a complete Ranger. A company several years ago was building a single seat buggy based intirely on the Ranger and was trying to sell it to the military, but at 16,500 back then I guess they passed on it. There was a article about it in Popular Mechanics back then. I have considered doing a replacement single seat frame like that. It would be a good compromise for all types of terrain

The buggy I spoke of is called the Prowler which is based on the Sportsman.
The company web site is atvcorp.com . There is a youtube video of it listed as "Prowler ATV military". Sorry I havent figured out how to do all that link stuff. |

Simply making clarification, The Polaris Ranger is a ute, The Sportsman which I should have mentioned is a quad. Both share many parts. I mentioned the Prowler because its a minibuggy powered by the powerplant in question.
The prototypes used Polaris but the later ones seem to be Yamaha. Im very sorry if I confused anyone |
