Default bender dies

I looking at getting the jd2 bender for building a RR size buggy. I do not know what size dies to get. I plan on using 1 1/4 4130 tube. Any ideas.

If you look at the pricing list for the dies here http://www.jd2.com/ it looks like the 4.5 radius die is the common one Part # 100209

That is what I have been using while drawing up mine.

At the time, I looked at almost all the brands of benders and I went with the Pro-Tools brand. I remember that the dies ere slightly cheaper and it came with more no-cost features.

Shop till you drop!

Interesting. When I priced them out recently with the 1.25 die, and degree ring, The JD Was $510, and the ProTools was $570. The JD site gives the shipping cost, but I didn't find it for the Pro Tools.

You're right. But like I stated, the 1.250 x 4.500 CLR DIES are $55 cheaper.
So when I made my purchase with four dies sets, the cost was over $200 cheaper.

Thanks!!

Ok, that makes sense. I thought you were only looking at getting a 1.25 die.

Hi Jerry

I have a design program, but I haven't bought or built a bender yet. Not to speak for dirtguy, but I would suspect that he has boughten other diameters of dies for other projects or ??

I see no reason that one 1.25 die with the 4.5 radius wouldn't be enough to build a average mini.

Jerry

I use Autodesk Inventor. I really like it, but it is overkill if you are just looking to build one car or something like that. I use it at work during the day, and have a copy of my own, but it isn't cheap.
