I want to say ~$65 for a pair. A fraction of the price for a complete half-shaft that you dont need(all I could find on the internet), and then you cant get them apart the way Ford put the circlip behind the star with no way to get it off, not even a hammer works, believe me, the star busted before the clip gave.
So you dont run a clip behind the star you run one in front of it to limit how far the axle can go into the CV cup, and now you can also take it apart. I love the Ford CVs, 45* of articulation and STRONG! |

Wow, that would be cheaper than EMPI's smaller OEM replacements.
I'm got plenty of F150s apart. On one stubborn one I chopped the shaft off (because its worthless) with a zip wheel. Then disassembled the CV, cleaned and reassembled. F150 outers = SBA! ![]() |

Deff cheaper, I saved a lot of money going the F150 route and was the best way to achieve the high angle I needed. And of course its super strong.
That is B.A. !! Are those F150 outers used on your inners too? Don't forget axle-exchange.com everybody....give them a call they were super cool people and actually make most of there money by making high performance light driveshafts and mustang parts. Yep f150 outers for inners. 28" long axle, I think it was like 19" total? With 4-5" of ground clearance.
I called them to order joints for my new car, they're calling me back Monday. Last edited by JGSturbo; 09-29-2012 at 02:27 PM. |
