Default Rotax Type 643, 617cc, 106hp Complete engine package

This is a 617cc, 106hp, Rotax engine package removed from a 1991 Ski Doo Mach-1 with 2117 miles on it. The Mach-1 weighed over 500lbs dry and this engine would easily push it to speeds of 100mph+. This thing is an animal and would haul some serious mail in a wheeled buggy. I have checked this engine out and test run it and it is in Exellent condition. It comp tests at 150+pis per cylinder and runs super strong. The pistons and cylinders look perfect and everything works as it should. This is a rotory valve liquid cooled twin with CDI ignition, dual 40mm Mikuni carbs, oil injection and RAVE valve exhaust. These engines were built after the 583 and before the 670. It is 106hp at 7500 rpms with this single pipe. They will easily make 120+ with twins. Everything you see in the pics is included. There is the engine, carbs, fuel pumps, primer pump, fuel shut-off valves, exhaust, primary and secondary clutches, belt, chaincase reduction drive assembly, cooling lines/rad cap/overflow tank, rotory valve/oil injection tank with mount, complete wiring harness with ignition switch, hi-lo beam switch, brake lite switch, tach, speedo, temp gauge, fuel level guage and sender. I do have the exhaust silencer for it but it is heavy and cumbersome looking. You can have it if you want it. I would make something different but it will need one if you want to keep your hearing. It is BAD A$$ed loud without it.

* This engine does not have E-start but it can be added. The primary clutch is setup to accept a ring gear and the front of the engine is ready for a starter to be bolted on. The drive assembly does not have reverse. I will probably be listing this engine on ebay but may not as a complete package as shown here. If I ebay it I will likely seperate the engine from the exhaust and drive components. I will sell it complete as shown for $1200 + shipping if needed. I can ship all the components shown via UPS ground for $150 or less anywhere within the continental US . If you have any questions give me a call at 262-767-9023.

* I have many more pics including close ups of the pistons, drive, etc. If you want more pics let me know and I will post them.

* * Thanks, Phil (opsled)

Opsled,

I really like the way you present the engine items to be sold on that green mat with the yellow trim. *Every single piece stands out very clear in the pictures.

Not looking to buy it, but that's a great price. [smilie=rockout3.gif]

Are these physically the same size as a 583/440 rotax?

Let me know if you want to sell that 340 E-start * *Hehehe. Just a little reassurance for someone interested in this motor. I have a 583 Rotax out of a 90 Mach Z which i've seen installed in an Odyssey and OMG was it ridiculous. The 583 is only 92 hp i believe. This motor would make an EXCELLENT powerplant for a mini, plus Rotax's are incredibly reliable. That an Opsled's the man. Good luck with the sale!!

Bullnerd, Basicly yes. The 643 is a little taller due to a longer stroke but will fit where any other rotory valve Rotax was installed.

Jay, That ET 340 E-start won't work in your engine. You need to find one out of an early to mid 70's Yamaha SL, EW or GP with the 433 or 338cc engines. There arn't a lot of those around but I am keeping my eyes open for one.

*k-fab and philibuster, Thanks for the compliments but I must confess that presentation and packaging are done for selfish reasons. Good presentation allows the buyer to see things better so he (on average) will likely pay more for the item than if the presentation were poor. It is good for the buyer as it shows I care (I do) and it helps them to know if what they are seeing will work for them. Packaging is boring work but if the item doesn't arrive in the same condition as presented buyers won't be happy. Unhappy customers are not good for business. I don't just do these thing cuz I'm a nice guy (although I am, oh modest too, ha,ha) but it does seem that if it's good for me it also benefits the buyer so it's good all around. My goal is to make money with happy buyers.

*Thanks again, Phil (opsled)

*P.S. I'm not sure where this Rotax is going to end at. It seems that people arn't spending a lot on this stuff right now. (probably because of the holidays) I do still have all the components for it so if someone wants it make a fair offer and it could be yours.
