What angle are your carbs sitting at? looking at the "yamaha" logo on the mag cover the engine looks like its tilted back a lot and so the carbs will be also, unless you have modified the carb inlets? You might have problems going up hill. did you tilt the engine back to get the chain to clear something like gear lever shaft?
I just noticed have you got the chain on now, have you driven it? |

Looks like your 1 step ahead of me! with the chain tensioner, I would use a small sprocket and make it adjustable not on a spring, or use one on each side on springs, or make either the engine or the axle adjustable so you can tension the chain.
Have you driven it yet? any video? |

hi again, i need some advice:
How it is better to modify front suspension with 1st modify wheels will be much forward. But i think that is good, because my wheel base is short(my legs are over front suspension, it should be near my legs, not over) and 2nd modify is like old one, but "a" arms will be shorter for clutch pedal reason (more space for pedals and legs on frame) (look ant pics), should i use tubing or square like old suspension? And i am suggesting to get front wheels like rear, IF i will use that big wheels in front, ill get and modify Ford Escort rack and pinion. ![]() ![]() Thanks, Merry Coming Christmas! ![]() Last edited by Binze; 12-21-2008 at 09:22 AM. |

Make a mock up with pedals, seat and proposed side rails in place. Use dowells or plastic pipe. See how much room you need then add some more. Include a dead pedal to rest/brace your left foot. You can also mock up the suspension to check movement.
As long as your tubing selection has enough wall thickness choosing between square and round shouldn't matter much. This is a low cost, low speed build. I think it's a good learning experience for you and us too. |
