I received my bender, plasma cutter, and my Rorty plans!! just waiting on my notcher now.
I have to say, the Rorty plans are GREAT! I purchased just about every plan I could get my hands on, and Bob's are by far the best. I'll be off the shop soon to finish up a coulpe cars and make room for my new table I'm having built. or maybe not, it's nice and sunny, maybe I'll go ride my bike first! work can wait. after all it is Saturday. I've built a lot of Kustom stuff, but I've never used a bender before, so any tips would be great. pretty standard bender JD2 type4 I believe. I'll have some more pics of the Honda tranny. I figured going with the Honda tranny will give me the final drive options I'll need. Thanks for all the info so far... cheers,

Looks like your getting off to the right start. Great tools make for a much better
job and will make your work easier and usually look much better as well. I look forward to seeing your build. As for the bender set up some type of degree wheel for it and keep track of what setting was for one bend so you can do the next one the same. I keep a note pad handy when first doing bends etc. Good luck. ![]() |

The bender has a degree wheel on it from what I can see. He just needs to make a pointer.

let me ask this: on the R82s how important is the rear section where the motor mounts is it to have it there as part of the base frame?
I was thinking of building more of a sub-frame back there instead. kind of like the sub-frame Yoshi builds for his rigs. I like the idea of just dropping a rear sub-frame to service the motor or tranz if needed.
