You might consider a Suzuki king quad 400 – cvt – v belt. I think it has reverse – and you could use the electric power steering from it?

Also the Kawasaki Prairie 360 has a cvt with reverse and electric start.

In short – most mid to lower cc utility quads will get you where you want to be and could be great donor bikes for some parts – but you knew all that already right?

No actually I did not know all that. I am not a big quad person or bike guy anymore.
Not since at least 1999. I have not rode a quad or bike since then and switched over to
buggies so do not know what's on the market anymore over the past 10 years.

So thank you I will let my brother know to check into those.
Thanks a lot Yummi and sorry I missed ya this weekend.
To many things came up for me to go.

That recluse clutch is what the ebk runs with his modified 450,you can come to a stop with it in gear.I'm not sure how it works but there are alot running it with that type clutch.I do know that the ebk trucks run them though....

It turns a manual clutch into an automatic centrifugal clutch. I've been looking for one for my engine to see if it would work out.

No worries on the weekend - there will always be sand and sooner or later the paths will cross.

I think there are some members of this board who have taken utility quads and made them into buggies - They can point you better than I. I think that a salvage one might get lots of what is needed for a nominal cost - heck, even non salvage might be an option? Gotta love Craig's list for desperate bargins.

Thanks XRH348

Well I changed the webbing in the side.
Just wanted things to meet up and line up better. Plus my brother Mike wanted the back bar to lean back and tie into the roof bar which is a good idea anyways.
As this is the prototype it's good to make changes and stuff now and then when we build another it will have all the corrected stuff built onto it from the beginning.

Ok how about some updated pics. I was able to work on it a little today but have to take off so here is what I was able to do.
Change out the side webbing.

Made the back bar tie into the rear cage and installed the rear torsion
bar for the arm to mount onto.

installed the rest of the front hood bars and bumper bars. Plus the small bars in the front corners of the front window.

back shot

and a comparison of my smallest car my single seater compared to it.

Thanks again for the input and info much appreciated and please
keep it coming if you like.

Hey Tut, I've got a question and a favor to ask... I'm thinking of building a smaller car so i can tote it around in the back of the pickup for day rides, but would something that small even fit two adults? Do you have a pic of a larger person in the car? I'm thinking of making the seat a lot higher than my barracuda so the cabin could be shorter.
