Well I started a Mini Truggy (trophy kart) build for my nephew and im sure there will be several upcoming questions and problems I will soon have so I thought I would subbmit my progress to the board. This is my first build and look forward to the day when I can start on something a little bigger for myself!!!
It is being built from a set of plans tho lacking some info such as some bend angles and measurments it just add's to the challenge. The plans just show the basic frame and has drawings of the front A-arms and trailing arms but no info so these will be built from scratch. As far as what will power this.......Hmmm... undecided as of yet! It could be the Robin Subaru EX 27 but we are leaning more towards somthing a little bigger. I have enjoyed all the headaches and scrap tube so far but have learned a few things along the way. I built my own JD2 type bender to start this project figured if I couldnt do that why try and build, it turned out pretty well and if any one is interested in it I will post a pic. My shop (half of the garage) is pretty much basic tooling and I think it will get me by. Anyway I look forward to the help, questions and comments and all the abuse and will keep things posted as I progress. |

Just wanted to add a few more pics, progress is slow but slow progress is better than no progress I guess. To many projects and not enough time and more important $$$! Hope to get started on the A-arms in the next week or so and try to get it to a roller state.

Oh ya it is taking shape nicely. I can not wait to see this Truggy come together.
Looking nice so far. Keep us posted as you said some progress is totally better than no progress so you just keep on working on it as you can and keep us posted. Keep up the great work and again that is awesome how you built your own bender. Truly this is a "custom" build even down to making your own bender. Sweet! ![]() |
