Default David's custom buggy

Hi. I'm new to this forum. Here are some pics of my very first custom buggy! The design was inspired by the Pirhana and a few other custom buggies I found on the web.

I've always wanted to build a buggy since I was a little kid. For this buggy, I wanted something close to the ground with a wide stance for stability. I'm very pleased with the progress so far. I've made a few mistakes but oh well.

Specs:

Engine - 1982 Yamaha 250cc with 5 speed. New piston, rings, fresh cylinder bore, and clutch.
Tires - 22x11x8 rear and 22x8x10 front.
Frame - Mostly 1" x 1/16th thick round and square.
Shocks - Used ATV and motorcycle.
Brakes - Dual piston caliper / disk setup from eBay.
Gears - 11 tooth on engine, 42 on axle.
Length - Aprox 90"
Width - Aprox 58"

Welcome to the site!

Nice build - it's exceptionally clean looking.

Have you had it out yet or are you still working on the detail stuff?

You may want to consider some triangulation bracing. The large "windows" down by the seat needs to have a diagonal that runs from the a-pillar up on top down to the opposite corner by the seat bottom. Run one from the same front upper corner forward.

It's a good looking start.

Hey, I was still posting pics when you posted so you missed the ones of me driving.

Its still a work in progress so I'll probably add more braces before I paint it. Thanks for the advice.

All right now that looks fun!
As K-fab said it looks clean.
I would agree with maybe some extra trussing or webbing.
But hey looks like so far so good and looks like your having a blast!
Well done and welcome to the site.
