Will you use trailing arms or DAA?

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I'm thinking double a-arms, or maybe even a single a-arm kinda like the edge piranha buggy.

Do DAA, then you don't need to remake from single a arms in future

David sorry about the delay I see you have purchased 930's the lenght of my jetta axels are 23" long from flange end to outside side hub with about 1/4 to 3/8 plunge "I beleive thats what it's called" with around 16.5 " of suspension travel.
My arms are 19 3/8 " from bushing center to center no heim joints on the badlands arms just bushings. The hub carrier is 2 5/8 total width with a center to outside width of 2 "

Hey man, congrats about your buggy. I'm planning to do something similar as my first project
I noticed that the engine "sits" on the rear swing arm and moves along with it. Does this produce some kind of shock to the engine? I'm between this and Edge's implementation on the Sidewinder where the engine is positioned on the swing arm pivot point. I find your solution better because there's no weight balance problem due to the motor being fitted on the middle rather than the side of the buggy.

Sorry for my poor English (not my native language)

The engine on the swing arm has worked ok for me, but I will be switching to IRS over the winter months. If you're only playing in soft sand, you shouldn't have any problems putting the engine on the swing arm. If you plan on driving on atv trails, you might want to look at either the Sidewinder, the Piranha, or maybe something from Badland Buggy. I found that hard bumps cause the carb to momentarily flood which stalls out the motor. Not fun when you're trying to climb a big hill!

Good luck with your build. Make sure you post lots of pics

Nothing much so far. I've been scratching my head lots, trying to figure out how I can fit everything in so that my rear-end dimensions remain close to what they are now. I've been playing with Google sketchup trying to design a double A arm rear end, but its proving to be more difficult than I originally though. I just don't have the space I need to make it all fit. I think I will end up going with trailing arms because of this. Now I'm just looking for pictures of other trailing arms so I can get some idea's.

How's yours coming?
