I have all the time in the world. I really enjoy seeing the talent that many of you have as you build these. I will hopefully have the time, money, and facilities one day to attempt to build stuff like this. Seeing the different work that you all can do is pretty inspiring.

Just what is Snakey made out of?
He looks like he's a molten pour off or something like that. Does he help keep the metal chip rats away?

Ah the Firesnake......
A buddy of mine buys and sells old Fords. He has a 2 acre lot with about 65 early 60's to early 70's muscle cars. Last year when We had all the fires here, he lost about 10 cars. Firesnake is lead body filler that melted off a 65 Merc. Thats the way it formed. I found it while helping him clean up and did a little magic marker paint job on it. It now guards the bar........ |

Looking really good, are you planning on adding plating to the sides like the trophy truck swing arms? Might be a good idea as the buggy is likely to be fast and over 1K LBS with you in it, I think it could be able to bend a bit if you hit something really hard (or have a really heavy foot like me, 23" travel will make you want to go really fast over big stuff!) I really am interested in this build, I like the outside the box thinking!

Lookin good! Gettin pretty artistic on your plate work there! GTAW on a piece like that really takes a lot out of you. It is so fulfilling once you are done and get to stare at it though isn't it?

You gonna have a internal brace above the snout and under that bend in the plate? Something I would definately recommend if you hadn't considered it. I learned the hard way on that one.
Why is the snout so long? It almost looks likes gonna go all the way through but your heim bolt is there. Last edited by standfast; 09-02-2008 at 02:56 PM. |
