It's not tube, it's plate. The sides will be .125 4130 with .065 overlays that run about half it's length. It will be more than strong enough for a light car like this. They will be stronger than the ones I built for Toyota #3 years ago....... Shock mounts are .5 below center, I've done many like this and never had a problem.

Ask K-fab how thick the material on the top arms on the Briggs cars is. They're probably single wall .065..........

How about .030. The upper arms are made out of something like 16 pieces each, but it's all oh-so-thin.

The shock also mounts just below the heim to heim center line to keep the arm from rotating too.

Got a little done today





I got My TIG to work at lower amperage which was good for welding on the doubling washers, but for the rest of the suspension I might have to wait for a real fix.
