Is it the camera angle or is there going to be more than 2:1 shock motion ratio? Maybe I'm being negative again but what is going to keep that lower shock mount from wanting to rotate till it binds being attached to the top link that way? Also isn't that a lot of bending stress concentrated on the unbraced top link in one place? The reason I ask is that I started to do that and decided it was not a good idea. What's your opinion?

9" shock, 22" of travel....... While the C/O is over 2-1, the bypass will not be. The reason for this is I'm cheap and it will give Me more spring options.
Top link is fine, running it...... Sorry, now more pictures for now, I had to center it on the table and stuff it back in the hole. |

Sweet. Won't be long now.
Fabr, having the shock mounts below the centerline of the frame and spindle pivots will keep the arm from flopping over. That is why the CAD picture of his upper link is bent like that. It is like that on every linked vehicle with uniballs and heims at both ends of the lower trailing arm (except for people that use the "wobble stopper" band aid). As far as having a greater than 2:1 motion ratio on the coilover, once again, most linked vehicles are that way as well. Typically you're going to see a 14" coilover and a 16" bypass with over 30" of travel on a linked prerunner and a 16" coilover and an 18" bypass with over 34" of travel on something like a trophy truck. No it is not the most ideal as far as the motion ratio but it is the only way to get large numbers of travel out of it without having a 20" shock. You can compensate the higher motion ratio with bigger bodied shocks to increase the volume to keep the heat down to prevent the shock fade. Hence the 4.0"-4.4" bypasses on the rear of race cars/trucks |

Gee, no kidding? I'd never have thought of that.
THIS is what he posted as the upper link.THIS is what I am talking about. YOUR pics do not show such a high motion ratio either. Fricken attachment doesn't show up well.Refer to bdkw1's prior pic please.
