Well I started on my second build recently. It's an Edge Trax 2 for my wife. Here's the pics so far...

Can you show some pics of your bender? I have a jd2 bender but i don't want to spend another $300 for a one inch die.I have all the stuff to make a bender like yours for 1 inch tubing. But im not sure how you clamp the tubing to the die. It looks like your using a Gate roller wheel. Nice setup. It doesn't look like it kinks much either. You can also cut a piece of 1.25x .120 tubing in half and weld it onto the angle iron to cup the tubing better.

The Edge plans seem ok. There were a few things that could have been done different. I've never worked with plans before so I cant really compare them to anything. Take care Sodman. |

Update:
First of all, I picked up this old Honda 4-wheeler for $150 to use for parts! The top end of the motor is done, but I plan to use the rims, tires, and front suspension. It has hydraulic drum brakes on the front which should work great on the buggy! I'm hoping to use the front swing-arm suspension, but I'm not sure how that will fit on just yet. ![]() ![]() ![]() Found a really nice seat for the buggy. Made some real good progress on the rear end. I moved the axle back some, and made it wider. The rear end will be close to 52" wide when I'm done. I would have gone wider, but then it wouldn't have fit in the back of my truck box. I added some extra brace for the axle to support the extra width. ![]() ![]() ![]() Brake mount is finished, along with the motor mount. ![]() ![]() ![]() Next, I'm going to get the seat mounted, and then start working on the front suspension. |

How's it going David
I see that the buggy is starting to come forward. That swing arm looks close to or identical to the swing arms that the FL 250 odyssee's used I have one setting in the shop that I was going to bring back to life some day but the the sabertooth took over.(needs a motor) Some of the odysee guys on here could give you pointers I would imagine. Good luck on the build Later Sodman |
