Well ive been busy again!!

got all the rear suspension mounted up this weekend / today - re done the lower shock mount so that it would clear the new rims I have for the project and finally dropped it onto the floor with two steel wheels (from the donor car) - which turned out to be a waste of time so I took em of again!

Anyway a few shots for you all :-

Well I hope you like the shots, I think its starting to look the part now, I have a couple of days off work now (took some holiday) so I aim to get the front suspension sorted (it would be nice if I could get it done by the end of the week !!

what are the hubs you are using?

XRH348 - the hubs are from a suzuki swift car - a humble 1litre version! - I have 4 of them (2 sets of fronts) eventually they will be fitted with 10 inch vented disks, I have made adaptors to change the suspension geometry from a lower arm and mcpherson strut to dual A arm all round - seems to function well at this early stage

I really like this buggy! Will this be a street legal buggy? What kind of shocks are those?

Daaboots - thanks !! - the buggy will indeed be street legal, I was going to put it through as a heavy quad bike but the finished weight of the buggy now forces me to put it through as a car (In the UK if the power is restricted and the weight is up to 400kg it can be classed as a heavy quad bike, however at the last project weigh in it was obvious that I was not going to keep it under 400kg and the finished weight was going to be around 475kg)

The shocks are custom built from a comapny called AVO here in the UK they are 30 inches long and have approx 11 inches of travel - and they are adjustable

Just finished preping all the parts for the front suspension - all bending cleanup cutting to length etc - and tak welded the first two front suspension arms together! pics to come soon

Well been busy the last few evenings and managed to get the 4 front arms built just tacked together at the moment but should get chance this weekend to finish them and fir the rose joints! - I also managed to get the vertical mounting tubes in place for the front suspension, so got a couple of pics for you :-

Been busy again, here is a shot of the front hub adaptor I have built for the suzuki swift fron hub to convery it to double a arm suspension geometry - My aim is to keep the specialised parts to an absolute minimum hence the adaptors! anyway this is what it looks like (note a rather rusty looking front hub assembly still to be cleaned and painted)


the lower rose joint plate needs a strength webbing adding to the bottom yet but were almost there.
