Well it is pretty messy. I cut a few pieces of small extruded aluminum. The kind used to make residential window screen frames. Trying to take advantage of the Fall weather. Anyway after just 3 or 4 cuts my whole benchtop was covered. As for the noise, it's hard to tell. It didn't seem bad with the Aluminum, but PPE will be used....

If you want a really nice saw...
We use this Haberle Cold Saw in our shop. It over 20 years old but it still works great though. It uses coolant and laser cut tool steel blades. It is crazy quiet, fast, and no sparks. And no carbide teeth shooting off in ridiculous directions. It works just like a rotating bandsaw, slow and steady. The only downside is that it costs about $4500 new.
