Well, it is time to start the build thread. The plans from Rorty Racing are very detailed! I have a Flow water jet at work, so every day at lunch I draw up some parts from the plans, and stay after work and cut them out. I just ordered the tubing(not the ChroMo yet), and Alro steel is delivering it tomorrow. But first I need to get the Blazer done. But for now its the parts collecting game, but once I have all the parts and pieces it's game on this fall, and Michigans LOOOONG winter. This is what I did today, and this is what I have to finish....... Oh what are your thoughts of using DOM tubing for the control arms???? I don't plan on racing or anything, but I do drive things kinda hard. Sorry bout the double pic. down below.

My R82 is all DOM. So far so good! My other car is all chromo. So many discussions about material selection, heat treatment, embrittlement, etc., could drive you nuts. Comepetent fabrication, bracing and welding will carr the day.
Nice plans at a good price . . RORTY! |

So, I just got my name on Dan's list for an RPM F.N.R, with a 5.4:1 ratio. And hopefully Gene hasn't sold the CBR 1000 motor, cuz that is next. I am also waiting on a 1.5" die for the JD 2 bender. My table is built, with the layouts done, all of the suspension jigs are built, I will post some pics tomorrow. It is definitly the building season here in Michigan. Let the sparks fly!

The Blazer's color is great. The work around it is nice too.
Is that you inspecting the left rear of the frame? You'll probably have to have Beard make you a custom seat if you plan on being able to see over the steering wheel of your R-16. ![]()

Hey thanks Rick. And K-fab, I am what they call a dwarf...
HA, just kiddin, thats my co-pilot Mason! He LOVES anything with a motor, and he is doing a quality check. The color is House of Kolor Majik Blue, and that Blazer turned out really good. As for the buggy, I was able to order a 6.5" rad. die from JD2, so here I patiently wait for that, so I can do some bending.... ![]() |

I finally got something done this weekend! I got the lower layer just about complete. I need to cope out 2 more tubes, and then on to the mid section. I am waiting on the motor, and rear frame clip from Gene. It is Dune's R-82 motor, and frame section, but Im not sure if I will use the frame clip or not. This is my first time building out of round tubing, and it's not as easy as it looks, but I am getting the hang of it pretty quickly though. I will post some pics later today(camera was dead last night) I see some late nights here in the next week or so.
