I picked up my frame from Tut Tech a while back and I've slowly been buying parts as I find money, and tinkering along. I should be able to spend more time on it now that I got both family reunions out of the way! YEA!! Here are a couple of pics, I put some seat bottoms in and a bunch of floor tabs and started fitting the floor. I also got all of my suspension piviot parts, and some steel to work with, so I can start putting a arms together. LIke I said slow, but i'm still progressing.

Oh man I have been waiting to hear if you have been working on it.
Sweet! So how are the spindles?? I am thinking of using them to set up my bulkheads and building my A-arms around them. (IF they are good) So let me know so I can get started making me some a arms in the very near future also. Sweet diamond plate floor. Hey are those tabs your using for your arms from Kludge? I want to order some of those too they look nice. Do I see a rear arm pivot and set up also going on? What rear arm did you end up going with or are you making some? Keep us updated and thanks for the pics. Looking good and your farther a long then I am... Great work keep it up. ![]() |

well I got some more time to work last night and this morning. I managed to cut out all the lower a arm parts, fit them together and tack them all in place! Yea!It's fun to cycle them up and down(man I am so simple sometimes).
Tut I think the spindles are going to work great, only time will tell though. They are pretty stout. Yes those are the piviots from Kludge, they are nice! I decided to use them on the bottom arms for strength and jig it all together straight, since they are less adjustable. I have heim joints for the upper arms so I can get some adjustability. I'll start the upper arms next, then It's going to be really fun to cycle through the travel. I also need to pick out a front rack and get it ordered so I can start working on the geometry and figuring out bumpsteer, all that good headache stuff. I've heard some guys having problems with the latest rage centerload rack. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Or should I try to deal with it. It is the one I had planned to use. I don't want to buy one only to have to buy another more expensive one to get one to work. I havent really started the trailing arms yet, except for the inside piviots and the heims on the outside of the frame. But I will when I finish the front. I need to find some micro stub bearing carriers to work around and weld all the tubes to. Again any and all suggestions are apreaciated. Here is a pic of lower arm tacked on, I ended up 61" spindle to spindle.( the plate at the back of the snub) |

well I've been hard at it all afternoon. I managed to make the upper a arms and bolt one of them up. here is a couple of pics, tell me what you think. They are just barely tacked together so i can make changes easy. In fact I think i'm going to shorten them up another 1/2 ", to get some of my adjustment back. I used it all up getting the camber even. They are straight up and down at about 20% travel and it increases slightly as you cycle it up.

Looking good. I would agree to remove about a 1/2 inch to get your adjustability back.
I run my tires slightly leaned in not perfectly straight up and down. I also run my spindles them selves back 10 degrees. You already have some because of the cars front up slope. But might be something you can check and see if you can do this if you want to lay them back more etc. Looking like your off to a good start. Man I so want to get mine up and going now. Dang. Well cool keep up the good work and nicely done. Oh and thanks for the answers to my questions. Perfect that is the exact same parts and ideas I was thinking of going with so it is great to see you using them and for me to be able to get the input and feedback from someone using the parts. Nice. Thanks. Last edited by TutTech; 06-21-2009 at 12:10 PM. |

Thanks Tut. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the spindle is actually tipped back almost onother 10 degrees more than the 10 degree slope of the frame. I'll shorten the top up today and get another pic. maybe it will show it better.
