Probably shorten the axles. Use a sleeve to slip the shortened axle halves together. Drill several holes or slots into the sleeve to weld the inserted portion to the outer tube. Weld the rest of it together and see what happens.

Gene, thanks again for your advise.
I measured the diameter of my axles and with a little bit of luck, they fit precise in a 1" tube so that is what i will gonna try. Then, i decided that i will sell my engine in parts and i hope to get a lot of money out of it offcourse ![]() Now i'm searching a complete bike with an running engine and then use the parts I need and also sell the ones that I don't need. This will cover my costs a bit. I will keep you guys updated ![]() I made some progress today with my build, the chassis is almost finished! Then i'm planning to start with the suspension, steering, seat, belt and floor. I want to place my engine at last. But maybe i will laser-cut my engine-mounts together with the rest of the laser-cut parts and that is very soon.. So that's a bit my issue. I added some pictures, like always.. That's because I always watch évery picture and really love doing that ![]() On 1 picture you see that i cán weld haha.. But that's always on the bottom-side ![]() Erwin

My chassis is finished!
Just need some more welding and then i'm really gonna start with the rest of it ![]() I'm searching an engine but that's a bit difficult. I'm planning to build an chain driven motorcycle and then turn the engine for 90 degrees. And connect the engine with the differential trough an chain. But the things that i can do now are all costing very much money Something that I don't have so much at this time ![]() When i have an motorcycle donor.. I have a lot of things to do ![]() But that will cost so many Dilemma!![]() Pictures: *Follow later.. Internet is buggy overhere haha*

I have some questions.
I want to buy my Rack & Pinion set and my pedalbox from Dan's Performance Parts but the info that I get with the parts is very limited.. I mailed like 2 weeks ago but haven't heard something back from them ![]() I added pictures of the parts that I want to buy but I don't really know how things work for example. Can somebody help me something with that, give me some extra information or tips? Or maybe other companies? For the steering set, I want to know if the Split Shafts fit in a 3/4" tube and if I can order a extra U-joint and Spline shafts that fit the current set. For the pedalset: How does that work?:P A throttle-cable from the pedalbox to the carborators from the engine? And hydraulic shift? The engines are standard with a wire? Or do I need a slave cylinder? And has it to be from the same brand as the pedalbox? Due to connections and stuff? And what's the diffrence between type 1 & 2? The 3 pedals, seen from driver-side.. is it Clutch-brake-gas? That's the standaard in Europe, I don't know how that is in Canada, Australia and the VS? Ehh that's about it.. I'm sorry that it are so many questions but I don't know much about how that works and stuff. Thanks for your reaction.

Pedals - that's one thing that's always been the same no matter whether I've driven a right side drive car (Japan, England, Australia and many of the Caribbean islands) or a left side drive (most of Europe, Mexico, Canada, USA) - the clutch is always on the left, brake in the center, fun pedal (throttle) on the right.
Clutch linkage - do a bit of searching - there have been quite a few here on the site that use a slave cylinder to activate the arm on the motorcycle engine. You have to be careful not to over pull the arm, though. It's usually a hydraulic setup, using a master cylinder at the pedal and the slave at the rear. You can also use a Morse style cable (think very heavy duty motorcycle clutch cable with solid ends instead of braided or twisted cable) for the clutch. Throttle - once again, a Morse style cable or a regular pull cable like you'd find on a motorcycle will work well. Morse Cable from Jegs ![]() You can mix and match components as long as you can get the correct fittings on the hydraulic line. Type 1 and Type 2 are probably (I'm guessing) how the pedal is attached to the master cylinders. The pedals you've shown in the pictures are VW style, where they're mounted to the floor. The pedal pivots down low, the actuator into the master cylinder (the rod attached to the pedal) is above the pivot and it pushes in as you push the pedal. There are other ways of mounting the pedal assembly - Hanging pedals come in two styles - one that's similar to the picture above, but turned over. Pivot is the upper most point, the actuation is below the pivot and as you push the pedal, it pushes the actuation bar. The master cylinder is in front of the pedal. ![]() The other hanging setup has the master cylinder in front of the pedals (and above it). The pivot for the pedal is below the upper end of the pedal, so when you push on the pedal, the upper end of the pedal is pushed towards you. The master cylinder actuation is then pushed inwards. ![]() For your steering there are a quite a few options - unfortunately I can't give you any others than from Howe Performance You can get a variety of racks from them - probably most are larger than you need. You can also get a large number of steering u-joints from them. They offer quite a few different spline number and diameters. Hope that helps you some. ![]()

Wow K-fab, thanks for the help!
I will go and Google Also, i will check the website of Howe Performance.I allready looked on eBay but haven't found something overthere. That would be incovenient with the very high costs that I have to inport it to The Netherlands. But that's a case what I must check myself... You're reply really makes a lot clear. And about the previous pictures and your reaction to that: I sat in to the chassis and looked how it was.. But i didn't make engine sounds haha... I muss confess that I always dream and think of how it is to ride an buggy when i'm driving a car ![]() XRH348: Quote:
