Default FFJosh R1 Rhino build

Finally getting ready to start some major work on this thing.

Going to be using a 03 R1 Street Bike engine.

What I Started with. I bought a blown up 04 Rhino from a local shop.

stripped the thing down to nothing

using a rear carrier from Yoshi.

I am kind of at a stopping points. Debating on hacking off the rear end and starting over...or using the existing frame.....I am leaning towards hacking it off to make life easier

I am working on a very similar project mine is a 05 rhino with an SV650 engine going in. I have talked a little with you on here I decided to use parts from Jody at Protodie I bought his rear hub/spidles and center section. ( Thanks to Yoshi sorry I did not buy your parts this time but I do appreciate you taking time to try and work something up for me.)
I have been looking at the rear end a lot also and I believe I am going to cut the top section off and tie the stock rear a-arm mounts into the cage going back towards the bumper. I plan to start my own project page here later today probably good luck on yours I hope it turns out well. Dont be mad if I steal some ideas ha ha I am very new to this but I really have high expectations and am really looking forward to the project.

I am pretty new to this too. I have helped SAS some trucks, but this is a complete new ball game. I am even making my own a arms.......talk about jumping in with all feet. I just can't justify spending 4k on a aftermarket set.

I have a couple plans...

#1 - cut off the rear hitch off and let the sprocket come back further. Then use the stock mounts.

#2, cut the rear end off right before the stock curve. Box it in and run a tube across the back.
Then I can run 2 tubes for frame rails and can bring the frame rails in so I can make longer a arms. I will then move the top a arm mount up a inch so its Parallel with the spindle.

The space between the top mount and lower mount is 6 inches. The space on the frame rail is 5. I would think it would work better if they are both 6. I could be wrong.

There is also 2 inches of space between the a arms mounts. They do not make hiems with spacers like that. So I could make new mounts so i do not need spacers machined.

Here is a pic of what I may do. Hope my rambling makes since

Purple/Red is the bottom rails and the top is the blue. That some paint skills haha

Crappy pics but I didn't feel like taking everything off of it since I am not going to work on it today.

Cut off the rear end
Bent some tube
Now waiting on parts
