Well not building exactly like that but a little bigger like the Drakarts were and not a arms
on this one as I have tons of front trailing arms for almost free, so I am going to use them. Especially for this size wheelbase and wheel travel that will be fine for now.

I will have more to show tomorrow. Mine will be my own design and unique in my own
way and maybe people may like them. Plus the cost I think will be worth it compared to
a Drakart etc. Depending how mild or wild I build it I think I will have the most mild
car out at first. Making it the most cost effective car out. Who knows.

Thanks Bullnerd.

Fl250driver, Sicksand, jay1823, nutnbolt2002 and David M thanks for the input and feedback also, it's much appreciated.

Your class has some restrictions on shocks, wheelbase etc. right?
Hmm I will think on it but because of this guys little bigger size I was thinking I would
need the bigger motor and run in the open class?

So that is why I want the open class.
Or am I wrong as I have never raced just reading rules.
Can you give me a link to the rules you use so I can see if they are the same??
Thank you.
Tut as far as rules go,they are not that strict.I know that we race against a couple drakarts, the formula cross is the one we race against but the Tornado would most likely be to big.You can go to Drakart.com and see the specs. The width and length is still probaly in the range you are looking. The bad thing about you going with that big of motor is that you might be to big for a stadium lite?Like I said,we raced against the drakart at Anaheim and there were no problems.I will also look and try and get the specs for you. That other car that guy posted would be sweet to build and get going again.Maybe we could get a Mickey Thompson series going again? That has been talked about before by someone on here but he was going to want way to much money for them.(just my opinion).I don't know where the rules are,I know before we were just kind of going with all of us being cool with it.I run against the 800 sled engines and I know that on some tracks I don't stand a chance but thats the way it goes, there is short tracks also where they can't use all the power...

Oh nice.
Here are the rules I went off.

Class SR-OPEN

Ages 16-up

This class is an open class designed for custom built mini-buggies, highly modified Honda Pilots, Drakarts and Stadium Lites. Maximum wheelbase is 80”, 70” maximum width and maximum overall length of 105”.

R-1. SUSPENSION:

FRONT: Open

REAR: Open

R-2. STEERING: Open

R-3. SHOCK ABSORBERS: Open

R-4. WHEELS AND TIRES: Open

R-5. BRAKES: Four wheel braking system required.

R-6. ENGINE: 600cc two-stroke twin, 1000cc four-stroke max.

I believe your class would normally be this one.

Class SR-2

Ages 16-up Defined as an advanced class single seat mini-buggy. This class is designed for reliability and performance on a modest budget. Wheelbase maximum is 77”, max. width is 68”. This class would allow the mostly stock Honda Pilot FL400 or stock/modified Odyssey FL350.

R-1. SUSPENSION:

FRONT: Swing arm, A-arm or trailing arm suspensions allowed. 10” maximum wheel travel.

REAR: Swing arm, A-arm or trailing arm suspensions allowed. 10” maximum wheel travel

R-2. STEERING: Rack and pinion steering required.

R-3. SHOCK ABSORBERS: Open shocks. Gas/rebuildable shocks
allowed. Reservoir shocks allowed.

R-4. WHEELS AND TIRES: Steel or aluminum ATV style wheels and tires.

R-5. BRAKES: Drum or disc brakes allowed. Four-wheel brakes required.

R-6. ENGINE: 500cc two-stroke twin, 750cc four-stroke maximum.

These rules are from the official rules.
I see the class your running and the difference.
Hmm ok I will think on it thank you for the info.

I have to move out West.
Not trying to be a downer, but
All these different brands of cars, and racing specs. Even with no racing specs, we can't get anybody to show up & race (here in the Midwest).

Hope this year is different.

Tut, looking good. I hope your next build can help promote mini buggy racing,,,,,,,,cause I'm tired of just racing 2 other buggies
