i bought a new primary igintion coil for my 80s model honda odyssey like this and i was wondering if it is too small because the one i took off of it was much bigger it fits the bolt holes but the metal on the ends is much smaller than the stock one

Usually you can put voltage into them, and once you release the voltage they should spark if you have a good plug. I'm not sure if those are 6 volt? The points are what breaks the circuit and makes the coil release the voltage. My uncle had a trail 90 that the ignition coil went out so I wired in a 7.2 volt r/c car battery pack. It ran all day on it as long as you unplugged it when done.
