mini buggy/ oddessy/ pilot race at pismo beach ca.
This is a race which bennefits charity. both saturday and sunday there will be mini-buggy UTV races, and motorcycle, and quads. The course will be all natural in the dunes, by the beach and each lap will be a few miles long. This is the race I built my buggy for, it should be a lot of fun.

Does a mini buggy need to run paddles?
Done lots of desert racing, but never been in dunes before. Reccomendations on tires?

It doesn't have to but it is nice to have. Same with a quad. Stock tires work in sand but have limits. Paddles work well in sand and perform poorly in dirt. Best to have both mounted and ready.

Actually at these races all bikes and quads even the mini buggies need standard dirt tires. I have been with this race the last three years and this will be my fourth in the pilot class. There is a Open Paddle class happening on Sunday that anything can run paddles but for the actual race you will need dirt tires.
