I guess were just gonna take it out and take it back to the engine shop in the morning. the top end is brand new. it ran fine the last time...it was VERY fast and had plenty of power and all of a sudden it just dies. it's not fired up since then and we dont know what else to do we've tried everything. could it be a bearing seizing in the bottom end??

We used just regular 2 cycle oil to mix it with and no idea on the jet setting. would the clutch make the engine seize like that?

sounds like you fried the piston, need to check the compression before you can really guess at anything, there is a huge diff between 90lb and 130 lbs...

Where did you buy the oil? You don't know what kind it was? There are many things that "might" cause it" If the clutch was doing it it would be likely wobbling all over to lock the motor.

It sounds like you burned the piston. It might be to lean or not enough oil. 50 to 1 is only ok if your jetting is spot on or a lil rich and the oil is top of the line. Doing that with cheap oil ruins $$$ engines.

Its not real clear as you are not telling us whats we are asking. The better you answer our question we ask the better we can get an idea of whats wrong.

Well we took it to the engine shop...they tore it apart and there was peices of the crank down in it and the whole motor had metal shavings in it! the new bore and piston didnt even have 5 hours use on it! wow i'm shocked.... so the motor is shot and i guess thats it for me and the odyssey project i guess i'll see what parts are going for and just part it out....i live in northeast TN if anybody is interested
