Default Installing water cooled head on FL350

So I was able to pick up a water cooled head on flea bay. Couple quick questions.

What should I torque the head bolts to?

Does the large inlet go towards the front or rear of the buggy?

And is the large inlet the "cold" side or the "hot" side?

Thanks as always!

The head should be torqued down to whatever the stock head should be torqued to. Does that head have any type of thermostat, or do you put one inline? I would say that the water goes into the smaller tube, then out the larger. It shouldn't matter if there isn't a thermostat.

plk- i don't think these use a thermostat. I was thinking the larger was the inlet, only because it comes into the top of the head. and the smaller goes out the side. I tried looking a couple water cooled set ups, but couldn't figure it out from the photo.

The higher one is out, then put it in the higher one on the rad....so it falls as it cools....Didn't you get it, I said hot water rises, so you don't want it at the bottom, your not using a water pump so you have to rely on, whatever the hell its called....No thermostat....

He is relying on convection. Will that really keep it cool enough?

I would say top, but again, double check. if you put the hot into the bottom, the water will cool, then sink, and try to push the hot water back down which will stall the flow.

It's called thermosyphon...The water comes out the top of the engine into the top of the rad...It cools as it goes through the raidator....
Keep in mind, it only works in rads that have vertical ventures, which means the tanks would be on the top and bottom of the rad...If the tanks are on the sides of the rad, thermosyphon won't work, and you will have to use an inline pump of some sort..........
