Odypilots, That is different to Bazz's - I know because I was going to send him the parts to get him going but I have the type of starter you have and he has the type that bolts to the block. He'd need the front bracket as well as the back one if he wanted to do the conversion. I imagine the wiring would be similar (once he bypassed the remote solonoid he must have).
I'll take that starter if Bazz doesn't want it. Could you get an idea of shipping by USPS to Sydney, NSW 2000 Australia? Thanks. |

Bazz, If you want to get the starter Odypilots has and do the conversion I should have a front bracket I can send over.
I am assuming they use the same starter ring gear (that bolts to the CVT clutch). Can anybody confirm this? |

Thanks everyone for ya help.
I have the direct bolt on type.I just found out from Ed that it's just a matter of finding a suitable spring, fab up a spacer, washer and end C-E clip. Dave,if this one does fit/work for my motor Type 593 ,597cc Reed,I'll take it,and if I can't use it then Brendan it's yours Mate!I'll post it to you. Best to get and keep this in Aus for both our sakes. We are in a Drak free zone here! We can share and act as spares for each other.Brendan, the starter has NO numbers or ID,cept for a small nd at the front.Dave do you have BOTH brackets/bolts etc for this? Brendan OZ has been helping me a lot, plus you blokes,so hopefully I'll be at the next Race Meet. How do we do payment,spcled1 still has some parts money for me there. |

Spent all day today drivin' round for parts. Managed to get the round wire C clip and matching collar that locates over shaft groove. Then had to fab up washers,springs,spacers....trial....error......tri al....error....trial....error....you know how it goes? When it all fell into place, then I fab'd up a Poly tube nose cone cover thing'y to protect it all.Hopefully it won't happen again! Yeah right!
![]() Ozpilot Brendan, you might as well buy Dave's one,I think it's only right after all the help your given me.Mine should be right now....Really it should! ...Bazz |

Can anybody tell me if the #AHSNDO 520 starter in this linkhttp://www.psep.biz/store/ski-doo_starter_motors.htm#AHSND0520 would fit my Type 593,597cc Bomb Rotax 02Drak.Looks the same as the direct bolt on as my one in my previous pics? Just can't seem to find the right year on it.The 600's that Alain fitted to the Draks, were they new or used, what years were they? Seems cheap?

the 597 engines were all the same, doesn't matter the yr, if i recall they are the same as the 600 ho motors now, most of the 600-700-800 parts like that are the same, stator, coil, starter etc etc... |

I have the 495 on my machine, you have the 520, they are only specific to the chassis, I will say the 495 is a tighter fit than your 520 likely is...If when your looking up parts look at the mxz 600 chassis lines..
