Default Out for a ride...

Well it was a beautiful day here in NY. I decided to take the Oddy out for a run today. Since I tuned the carb up a bit, it has been cold starting on one pull! I have never had a 2 smoker that ran better than this old 250. I use an iPhone app today called "EveryTrail". It tracks your progress with the gps, and allows you to take photos along the way that it geo tags. It will then upload it to a server for public or private viewing. The stats are very cool. It shows you how fast you were going, your elevation, etc. You can see at any point along the way your speed, etc, and it gives you nice graphs. Click a button and your marker will rerun the trip for you showing all the stats as you go. A really nice program. Here is the link to todays ride, (please keep in mind this is privately owned, posted land that the owner has graciously allowed me to ride on - please do not trespass) - Joy Ride - Offroading - Everytrail
And a few pics...

That app for your Iphone is killer!

Beautiful pix and looks like a great place to play. I like the private land disclaimer. Lucky dog to find someone that will allow you to go play.

I have just started to explore the trails there. The owner of the land has a small chinese buggy his kids use out there. Since the EveryTrail program shows exactly where I was riding, the disclaimer is there so nobody gets the bright idea to go out there without permission. Invited guest only unfortunately. An old railroad bed runs through the middle & lots of people run on that.

PS - if you click on the "sats" text/button, it will show you the route & the graphs next to each other. Find the arrow near the bottom left as I recall, and click it. It will move an icon along the trail as I drove it and the graphs will correspond with it. Very cool stuff. I got it free a while ago from the app store, but even if they charge for it now, it's worth every penny they get for it!

That "little" mud puddle behind the Oddy looks easy enough to traverse. As it turns out, it is deeper than the seat & the bottom is the slickest mud this side of the Mississippi! I went into it kinda easy and got about half way through before the treads filled up and I came to a really wet stop. I also learned that the belt guards should be on. If not, the drivetrain turns an ordinary water hole into a nice shower for the driver. The more I throttled it, the wetter & muddier I got. LOL!
I have yet to go out riding with the Chinese buggy. I would assume I will wipe the trail with my Oddy. The Chinese buggies are rarely 250cc. Usually they are 150cc plus they are 4 strokes.
Heres another shot of the puddle...

LOL!!!

I know those puddles - I've found a few on bikes over the years. "Where'd my front fender go?"
