I don't agree there, they make in stock form something over 100 ftlbs. and in hot rod trim are more than double that!

A good setup would easily handle that...Look at a rx1 specs, and multiply the torque of the reduction shaft and see what that is...

Even most Ecotechs are over that in torque and a lot of them with CVT's run all day long. Harleys make noise mostly. I am just tired of every guy on a Harley thinking the more noise it makes the better. Maybe one in ten or fifteen harleys sound good. The rest are just loud.

I will agree there! MOST are fools with that notion, but some have it figured out, a friend of mine is in the Harley business and has a dyno in house, he has stock engines with nothing more than a cam making 150+ RWHP and some modded motors with big cubes doing almost twice that with NO turbo! $$$$ though!

Yeah, but aren't harley engines like 100 cubic inch? That's like 1650 cc.

It's not so much how much it would make but rather how it's made. 100 FTLB'S spread out over 2 power pulses is going to be as hard or harder on the drive train than 200 FTLB'S spread out over 4 power pulses. Case in point, the old Scat V4's. their power numbers were less than a built SBC, but they were MUCH harder on the drive train.

I still do not think it will matter that much. The latest two stroke monster sled motors are making serious power.

The Harley based bikes Livewire mentioned are likely not stock. I have never seen those but I am gonna look to see if they can back up a power claim. I am doubting they have a lot of issues with them or else not to many would still buy. (Which may be the case as I have never seen or heard)

I have seen people try to put a Harley tranny behind sled motors and the trannies failed. This of course is based on powerful engines and a lot of weight. But there are many better trannies a person could get for a harley as I believe they simply used the first one they found out of a wrecked bike and this was a while ago.

I dont know if they are cvt or not, they make slider clutches for harleys that are very popular, they are just centrifugal with no clutch lever, still gotta shift gears tho...

Yea look at yammies 4S sleds, there pushing close to 500hp with boost/nitrous in drag form. A Stock Yamaha Primary has been proven to handle 300hp, anything more than that is recc. to upgrade to a billet unit. So even still you have other options if your making huge hp numbers its just gunna cost some $$$$.
