Anyone know where to hook up an oil pressure gage and what thread adaptor is needed. I have an 05 motor. Gage fitting is 1/8 or 1/4 mpt with the adaptor provided.

I know on the gsxr-1000, there os a galley bolt under the left side engine cover, the stator cover, that is a good place to put in a pressure guage, but you would need to find a metric fitting. It is a good spot because the oil comes out of the put directly into the passage that is capped by the bolt. Autometer may have a fitting but under there motorcycle gauge company, Pro-Cycle.
Try this link, it is a 10mm adapter from Summit Racing Auto Meter 2265 - Auto Meter Metric Adapters - summitracing.com Good Luck. Scott |

Cheese131 would that be what looks like a pipe plug on the left side towards the front of the engine about half way up. looks like around 10mm.
Gene, I have the TW in and am about ready to fire it up. Just waiting for some injector o rings that needed replacement (one was pinched and leaking.) Hope the engine runs and the TW don't blow up. I am hoping because I have way less motor I'll be ok. Any news on yours? |

If I recall, it takes about a 10mm allen, some models have a standard hex head. If you happen to take it out and decide to put it back in, be super careful not to over torque, they are hollow and I think made from powder metal and will snap right off. Just snug it up enough to seal.
See attached parts fiche, #24 at the bottom. You can see in the drawing the pump fills that passage, then has outlets to passages for the head. Hope this helps. Scott |

BT,
I have not followed up on my TW 'cuz I'm preoccupied. Starting construction of a 812 sf back yard shop Monday. It will have a 12x16 door and 13' ceiling. Once built working on the car will be fun. Now it's a PIA stuffed in my overtuffed garage. Fingers crossed for you! Last edited by Gene; 09-20-2008 at 05:25 PM. Reason: splng |

Cheese131 thanks, I looked in the manual last night, didn't know there was a oil passage diagram. looks like the one that is up high is the sub oil gallery and the one on the bottom is the main gallery. I saw the one up high last night (easiest to get to and it was an allen plug) I guess for the gage that one would suffice.
Gene, I feel your pain. My garage is one car space too small for all my stuff. I let you know if the TW grenades or not. |

Just following up with the fix I did. Went to Mesa Hose and they made me an adaptor by modifying and silver soldering (2) different fittings together to 3AN male and I put in a braided line. For 20 bucks it was worth it.
