Default How do you know when Yamabond is no longer good?

I was getting ready to assemble some engine cases and grabbed my tube of Yamabond4 and when I open it it was running out of the tube pretty easy. I swear when I opened it about five months ago it was like a loose toothpaste. But this now seems to be like thin thin pudding thats runny. Anyone know when its considerd not good? It say one year on the tube but you don't know how long it sat on the shelf... I just wonder if I can finish this tonight or if I should wait and get some fresh stuff. Thanx Bill

If it is still tacky and as stringy as when new then go for it. Its your call, however, as a $6 tube of yamabond is cheaper than any piston I've ever seen.

I did not stick my fingers in it but it seems to be just running out of the tube. I seem to remember it thicker but as I look a lot of people say its pretty runny.

I'll have to go on how it tastes.

Try kneading the tube, we have stuff that needs to be kneaded first to mix all the goop before its used.

I really wanted to finish the crankcase last night so I was looking for answers. Said screw it and went to bed. Got a fresh tube of Threebond 1104 this morning (Yamabonds replacement for now. Californias getting it banned too. Apparently they eat anything out there and it causes health issues when you do.......)

My tube of Yamabond was stored inside in a cooler place with the cap on tight. I dunno how runny it can be but it was nowhere near this bad when I first used it. I thought about trying to knead the tube but I decided not to risk it. This is the first Polaris scrambler motor I have redone and will likely be the last. In just the time it took to get it out of the frame I can have a Banshee motor out and apart (talking splitting the cases here) and be on the rebuild. I am quickly becoming NOT a Polaris fan.... When this machine is sold I am going back to Yamahahahaha as I had more fun and worked on my Yammies less.

It started runny but became more chewy as I went. Its only "semi-drying" so it should last for while. Its not SWEET like anasasisxenophontis thought..... Tastes like liking a dead skunks ass.... Smells a little better than that though.. (how do I know? I was curious...Don't say YOU have not been......
