Don't forget to build the header out of something like the stainless weld el's like stated before and WRAP the Header, it will vastly improve the lag time and keep the engine inlet temp lower if its near to it. Also run a turbo blanket as well for the same reason, on drag cars these things do wonders for response time! Remember heat in the exhaust before the turbo is your friend!

SuzukiHayabusa.Org has all the busa specific info you need and the experts glad to help. Most of what I've read in this thread is generic to turbos and good advise-in general. The turbos suggested off of salvage vehicles though will likely be too large to accomplish what is needed. To prevent t'lag sizing is very important. Also using a ball bearing center section(such as the GT25R has and works fantastic on the busas) will help improve spool times. Plain bearing units are fine but a little slower spooling up. On my busa ,based on the GT25R, boost would begin at approx 4K with no lag at all. Instant response.

Yes but that is in a whole different price range there MF. Not sure what his budget is but usually people aren't prepared to drop $900 - $1000 on just a turbo. I suggested factory take-offs because I get the impression he is trying to get the best bang for his buck. A 30% increase in power is going to be very noticeable on a car this size I would think.

That's sort of like saying I want a heart to transplant from an elephant into my horse since I can get the elephants heart cheaper. It'll be a bit too large.
IMO only! If you can't afford to do a turbo fab right you might as well save your money and enjoy what you already have. Turbo sizing(for the intended purpose) is what will make or break an install. I'm well aware that some don't give a rats ass what I have to say and that's why a visit to SuzukiHayabusa.Org will be time very well spent. MAYBE they'll listen to real experts on t'boing busas.![]()

No ,it is not the best tbo to use. I can't say that. Depends on application and intended use. From what I understand you want to achieve it's the same as my goal was. I found the GT25R to give me boost at approx 4K and up. Smooth as glass with no lag in the least.I ran 8-10#'s boost at stock compression and pump gas with a powercommander and FMU using stock injectors. Also the info about the Innovate dataloggers and wideband O2 stuff is what I used to tune from. If you'd like a base map to start from I'd be glad to provide one if you use the gt25r. Other turbos will work fine also but be very careful if using any takeoffs as most will just be oversized for the busa and your objectives. If you were drag racing the buggy then maybe they would be suitable.Just my opinions on the subject.
