Default What engines?

What other engines are out there that make good power? Looking for tourqe on a 2 seater.

So far I have been looking at
R1
GSXR1000
Honda 929.

Any other over 900cc engines with lots of power? Maybe some sleeper engines? I found a 2001 Honda DV1200? That sound right? With light damage for only $1700. But Its hard to find info over them.

If its torque your looking for a V twin makes loads of torque, like the honda VTR1000 and the later SP1 anmd SP2, suzuki TL1000 and aprillia RSV1000. All of these are 1000cc V twins with about 110 to 140 bhp, there is also the ducatis but loasd of money and no better, I think the hondas have different names in the usa.

compare some sportbike dyno charts and you will be surprised at the actual numbers for v twins vs. in line fours. I would choose the GSXR 1000 over any of the v twins. The 954's torque curve is nearly the same as the RC51 1000. The GSXR's torque is better across the board.

Air cooled engines are not a good choice for buggies. That and the Harley engine would leak oil all over your frame.

Oh, WTH, just bolt on a 30# or so flywheel to any damn thing you want.THAT will give a small buggy a sh-tload of torque.
