I think there is a finer line between comparing a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke, there is a lot of variables to consider, I am certain there is 2 strokes that will out perform a 4, and 4 that will out perform the 2's as well....I think it is going to boil down to how it is delivered....

I did a little sand dragging yesterday in the drak, I learned a handfull of things, and i am now eager to get back and try and put the things i learned back to use in a different order...all in all the drag racing was pretty fun, I suggest it to anyone who really wants to get the power tuned from the engine to the rear wheels. And at the same time you will learn what hp and torque truely mean...

I think that if you had a un-piloted boat coming after you, you could run on water too.

CVT baby!!! Infinite number of gears inbetween its highest and lowest ratios and it shifts them in an infinitely small amount of time.

personally I love torquey engines
Thats not a shoe its a sandal. The caption coming out of the boat should be "JESUS CHRIST!!!" as who else can walk on water??? The boat driver is trying to avoid hitting Jesus cause who would want to explain that to St. Peter at the Pearly gates?

"Um... Yah I'm... I'm am one who ran over Jesus with my boat......" lol

My autoshop teacher always used to tell us Torque is how much weight we can move. Horsepower is how fast we can move it.

Oh and to Fabr. "Sheer HP is HP from a motor with a certain kind of pantyhose on it.

Torque is twisting force. This is what breaks axles. HP is the rate or how fast work gets done. Easiest way to increase horsepower is to increase the RPM. (engine spins faster in the same amount of time mathmatically)

On the downside of that, you generally decrease torque with higher rpms as well, after a certain point that is...

Torque is always greater than horspower under 5,252 rpm and horsepower is always greater than torque above 5,252 rpm. This is for engine horspeower, not rear wheel horsepower. This means that when you graph these two functions the two will intersect at 5,252 rpm. The object is to get a flat torque curve that compliments a broad hp curve. You need the torque to get you moving and the hp to keep it moving.

Not trying to make light of the subject heard this on a radio morning show some guy call in and says Torque i'll tell you what torque is when you wake up in the morning with a woody on and you go to use the toilet in order to hit the target you push down so hard you can feel the back of your feet come off the floor that's pure torque.Hopefully i have not gone to far with this one I just thought it funny
