fl250 stock power

Hi All

How much power does a stock FL250 odyssey have?

Looking to build a mild buggy for the kids and liked the size and power of a stock FL250. Been searching the web but cant find a power figure.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-17 hp. But with mods the engine is capable of double that.

Ok thanks. Seems a little less than I was expecting though.

The 250cc 4 stroke early 80's road bikes were putting out between 20-30hp so was expecting at least that.

OK Thanks for that. The torque convertors must be pretty effective then as it felt pretty zippy. Out of curiosity, what are the PO sites?
