Well now that i have the 440 running nicely in my mini i plan on running the hell out of it. Now since it's a fan cooled engine and i really have no experience with fan cooled engines how do i monitor the engines temp so i don't fubar it, also whats a good temp range to keep it in? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Jay

you can get a thing for an rc car that shows temp, it has a probe on it i believe, Youll have better luck skinning a live cat than worrying about getting hot, ride her till she pukes... ![]() |

The r/c car sensors have a loop that wraps around the engine head. From my experience, they HATE large vibrations. I had one for my r/c car and I put it on my 400ex for the trip to sand lake. it died after a day. The electronics inside need to be held down with hot glue. Mine had vibrated a little silver cylinder to the point where the lead broke. I have an IR sensor now that I use every once in a while. The only problem with the loop is that it can be hard to mount. I think I held mine on with a zip tie around the head. Don't know if it would last too long with the heat, but I took it off after the day. You also cannot bend the loop too tight next to the sensor. You'll break the lead on the sensor.

You can get an adjustable fan sensor from JEGS, it will activate a light on your dash if it goes beyond the maximum specified heat rage.
Or you can buy an intelidash. |
