Default Fuel Pressure Regulator?

I have a 02' GSXR 1000 and I am running an inline fuel pump. *The way it is set up now the CDI regulates the pump on and off. *The pump is surging and I think I am going to run the pump full time when the ignition is on and will need to run a regulator. *My question is what type of regulator to run? *I have seen the non return style and am wondering if they are any good or to just go with the return style. *I would like to not run the return line but if need be I will. *Is anyone using the non return style? *Is there any drewback of using it? *Good and bad about both would be great.

The non return will variate a little more than the ones that can cycle the fluid since the pump isn't always stalled.

Would running a non return style be harder on the fuel pump than a return style?

What psi does the pump put out? If it's rated for 100, it can put strain on it, but i doubt it would ruin it.

I measured it and it was @ 70+psi. *I ended up ordering a return style regulator from trick flow so hope this will take care of the problems I have been having. *Thanks for all the replies.

I have an 01 GSXR with the same set up. I have a bypass regulator on it. I ran my fuel line from my fuel pump to my input of my fuel rail and T'd off of that and put the return line on the T. Its the ghetto way of doing it. They also sell a outlet for the other side of the fuel rail or I think hyper makes a whole new fuel rail that has a return line on it. My return line is actually larger than my input line. When I went with a smaller one the fuel pump was having too much strain. If your in the San Diego area Double Down is excellent with this type of stuff. You want between 43-45 PSI at the fuel rail. I had 100. Your engine will start and run really well once you get the regulator on it and adjusted right. I know there is some drawing somewhere around the site that shows you how to do it. I think its under the engine stuff.
