The exhaust that came with my rotax 793 engine has a big outlet, sometimes called the stinger, the smallest diameter before the silencer and so has a big bore silencer (looks like a superbike race can) This is way to loud even with 2 silencers in line, does anyone have a ski doo 800 that they can measure the bore of the stinger.
With this exhaust being a 2 in to 1 I assume the whole exhaust will need to be bigger. |

Unfortunately most two strokes are noisy. *About 30-35% of the sound is actually intake sound, much of the sound is heard through the body of the expansion chamber. *(think about it, sleds and pwc keep the power plants enclosed in a fiberglass box). *Many times stock exposed to the world expansion chambers are dual wall with a very small air space between the walls in an effort to deaden the sound.
A couple ways to help lessen the noise output of the engine are: Air box. *This can be a pain, but can be well worth the effort too. *Open filters on the ends of the carbs are noisy, so if you can encase them somehow that will help Wrapping the expansion chamber(s) in muffler tape helps. *It dampens a lot of the sound from the exhaust side of the engine. On the muffler end of the system, look into one of the FMF Q pipes. *They offer many different sizes and such and I'm sure a phone call to them would direct you to a muffler that will have an inlet size that matches the output end of the expansion chamber.
