Default buggy engine?

what engine would you guys reccomend for my buggy? i want a reliable engine that makes 100+hp and some good torque like 60+ ft.lbs and also that isnt too pricey. something that is about 1300 dollars tops for the kart kit that comes with the ecu and header ect. also something i can get replacement parts for easily. and a Busa is out of the question it is too expensive for my needs. thanks alot.

I would lean toward the big V-twins....your car...R-16 Shotgun is to large for a GSXR600......... IMO........ Yes, it produces high HP numbers but not a lot of torque and both of those numbers are high in the RPM range. It is a great engine for a single seat smaller buggy.......but the Shotgun does not fit that description....where as the V-twins produce power thru-out the RPM range.....and are more suited to what you are building. The Suzuki LT-1000 and Honda RC-51 and VTR-1000 are very good candidates. If you want a inline - 4 then any of the 4's above 1000cc would also be fine.

The CBR 1000 is a good choice as it's more of a tourer than outright sports bike and they're not as popular as some of the racier models, but whether you can find one within you budget is another issue.

I also really like the TL 1000 R for the way it makes its power. Good hunting.

I know this has been a topic before, but what about the GL series like the GL 1800?

118 hp (88 kW) @ 5500 rpm
167 Nm (123.2 ft. lbs) @ 4000 rpm

I couldn't find specs on what the motor weighs in at, the full bike for 2007 is 800 lbs.
