Hi guys. My name is aaron. *I am new to minibuggy. *I have been searching and searching for help or anwers to the problem I am having with my 929 motor. *So heres my scenereo. *I purchased this 2001 cbr929rr engine from a person on craigslist. he said he had it running, but once i got it to my shop I cannot get any spark, and cannot get the fuel pump to activate. *I have a wiring schematic and bypassed every switch that would disable spark or fuel. *I just ordered a new bank angle sensor, and am waiting on arrival. *I do not have the stock ignition switch or gauge cluster. *I was reading through a couple other forums and found a couple people having very similar problems. *Please, if anyone has any advice or information, it would be greatly appreciated.

You need a 12 volt to 9volt voltage regulator. *The new bikes have an anti theft device (the PINK wire) in the stock ignition that kills both spark and fuel. *Put the voltage regulator between the hot wire in the ignition and the pink wire and then ground the regulator (there are 3 wires red, pink and black) and you're done. *I can't remember the part number but I googled it and I think it is a LM7809
here's the link for one: http://www.surplustronics.co.nz/shop/pr ... S0508.html P.S. *He sold you a line of BS if he said he got it running without the stock ignition... |

Hi cbr929_build_up all you need is 1k ohm resister get power from the ignition switch and put the resister in between to the pink wire. You don't need the lean bank sender all you do is take the outside wire it is red *and hook it to the other outside wire it is green and that will active the stop engine relay which powers the fuel pump ,coils, and the injectors . Hope this helps

alright. *First of all thanx for the posts. *I decided to go down and buy a 1 ohm resistor. *I put the resistor between the power wire coming to the ignition switch and the pink wire for the anti-theft. *I then bypassed the bank angle sensor by tying the outer red and green wires together. *Do i need resistors to byspass the angle sensor? *I still have no spark. *Any ideas?

Hi cbr929_build_up if you have successfully by passed the anti theft when you turn on the key you will hear the pump run for a few seconds and then turn off . After you have do that to get the self diagnosis to work you have to insert a jumper on the diagnosis connector it is a black two pin connector two wires green and brown with the ignition switch off. Then you take a look at the forward harness there is a white wire with a blue strip that would normally go to the instrument cluster take a 12v light like a indicator light and hook one side to the white w/blue strip and other to a 12v source . Then you just turn on the ignition switch and stop engine switch and it will start flashing if there is any codes stored in the ecm. Make sure you solder the clutch switch and kickstand switch wires together . And no you don't need any resistors to bypass the angle sensor. Hope this helps

??? * Just found the time, went out and worked on the motor. *I followed everything brandon said to run the diagnostic code. *I jumped the diagnostic connector, hooked a 12v light up to the white/w blue strip wire and the bulb just lit up and stayed solid, no flashes. *Whats this mean? *Bad ecu? *Any ideas or suggestions would be great, and thanx for the help so far. *I guess I just gotta knock one possibility out at a time until it starts.

I have 8.73 volts after the resistor going into the ecm. *STILL NO SPARK. *Its driving me crazy trying to figure this damn thing out *[smilie=banghead.gif] . Any ideas on what to do next? * *Thanx

I dont hear the pump start, but it does get hot. *The guy i bought it off of said he got the motor running, but he could never get the stock fuel pump to run? *Who knows if that means anything tho, he problably fed me a bunch of lies. *But it is a motor, its fixable. *Is there a certain way to test the cam pulse generator, or the ignition pulse generator to see if they are faulty.
