Did it actually eat up the aluminum? If so, dang, that sucks. Are the heads any good? The whole sled could still be sold...

*Yup, The carb bottoms on both intake and engine sides were coroded all the way through, the reed cages were completely destroyed, The reed cage opening on one cylinder was almost corroded through the side as was the lower crankcase half, the crank was junk. The only thing salvagable was one cylinder, both heads, and externals but the basic long block was junk. It would have been over $2500 in parts to fix when with proper storage would have still been like new. This was a sled that should have been worth about $3000 but I bought it for $200 because of it's condition. It is a great example of what IMPROPER maintenance and storage can cost and this was an inexpensive engine compared to others so it could have been alot worse.
