We are going to get EPA-CARB on the ZX14 engine from
Kawasaki for our new Super-Kart LT-2. It has about 20hp more than Haybusa 1399cc and the engines are brand new. We plan on offering it with a FNR 5.5 to 1 tranmission These 1352cc engines are complete with 44mm throttle bodies, engine wiring harness, and coils, just as you would install into the chassis. The ZX-14 engine produces approximately 184 rear wheel hp (motorcycle) with tuned racing exhaust. This engine incorporates a 6 speed transmission and wet clutch. ENGINE ZX1400A6F/B6F Type: Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-Line Four Displacement:1,352 cc Bore and Stroke:84 x 61mm Compression Ratio: 12.0:1 Valve system: DOHC, 16 valves Fuel system: Fuel injection 44mm x 4 (Mikuni) Ignition: Digital Starting: Electric Lubrication:Forced lubrication, wet sump with oil cooler DRIVETRAIN Transmission: 6-speed, return Final drive:Sealed Chain Primary reduction ratio:1.541 (94/61) Gear ratios: * * * 1st - 2.625 (42/16) 2nd - 1.947 (37/19) 3rd - 1.545 (34/22) 4th - 1.333 (32/24) 5th - 1.154 (30/26) 6th - 1.036 (29/28) Clutch Wet multi-disc, manual We think this engine will give Hayabusa a run for the money! I heard Tom ProDesign has used these engines. Anyone else use this engine yet? Sean |

I believe that making a CARB compliant mini rail will be a first in that segment by whomever delivers first. I am aware that other California manufacturers must comply with California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements and the sandrail industry is going to be compliant or out of business selling turn-key cars.
So it will be interesting to see if TomPro or King bring this out as a purchase benefit. If California refused to permit the car . . . |

We have no choice but to get our sandrails CARB compliant if we want to continue sellling our sandrails in
California. This is the only motorcycle engine that I am aware of that has this much hp that is available as a crate engine. I know some other manufacturers have went so far as to buy brand new Hayabusa in order to have engines but that is a very costly way to go and it increases the price to the customer. It is my understanding that Suzuki has stopped making the Hayabusa 1300. It costs too much money to get CARB-EPA to not have a good supply of the engines. We are hoping this engine is the solution.
