My engine ('03 Honda Superhawk) has carbs and no fuel pump.
I can fit a littlle over an 8x16 round tank above the engine, but would have preferred a fuel cell behind the seat on top of the lower rails. Are there ways to integrate pumps into carb/suction for fuel delivery engines? The carbs suck x amount of fuel depending on demand, so you couldn't use a pump with a constant flow - that's my logic....?.... Kasey |

most electric fuel pumps if used with a regulator will actually cavitate and stop pumping when pressure becomes high enuf, or you might be able to run a pressure switch, like an oil pres switch into your line on the posative side of the regulator, that would break the current to the pump, and stop it from pumping, also if it was done that way i would think, you would want to have a psi switch that was about 5 psi higher than your regulator setting... 8) but i havent never tried it.

Jim,
Good idea with the secondary tank to gravity feed. I didn't think it would be easy, just threw out a post to see if it had been done before. Since I'd rather not screw up a good engine, I'll stick to an overhead tank. 8 x 16 holds about 3.5 gallons and will fit. |
