The GSXR1000 is a great motor. You won't be dissapointed in the power.
I have 2. Both were bought as a full bike for $2700 and $2400. I parted out what I didn't need and ended up less than $1000 for each with all of the accessories. One is a 2001, the other a 2002 with about 15k on each.

$1200 is a good price if everything you need is there, but plan on adding a few extra pieces as most don't come with everything to run them. (airbox, wiring, clutch and stand switches etc..) That's the reason I bought the whole bike.

The GSXR guy never called me back. Checked out the 2007 CBR1000rr and ended up getting that. Was told it had less than 1500 miles but had no title (should be able to get a copy from the DMV). I was taking a risk so I talked him down to only $650. Got the cbr1000rr with harness, ecu, air box, etc. Pretty good deal, now just hope it's in good condition.

I never get a title with a motor, those stay with the frame.

I just get a bill of sale for the numbers stamped into the motor.......

Ok good to know. I had a copy of the title for my old CBR600 motor and when I registered my buggy at the dmv they made a stink about it because it was already registered (probably to the frame) but got it all straightened out with the highway patrol when they issued my vin. Still took a risk as I did not have anything showing the millage or condition except his word of mouth. He bought it on ebay but didn't have a copy of the listing but did provide a copy of the paypal receipt and also got a bill of sale. Motor condition did look pretty good and cranked it over by hand. I figured for $650 I'd take the risk.
