Default Server move completed 06JUL07 - attachments issues

There will be a server outage tonight at between 2100 and 2300 as the site is migrated to a new server and platform.

After much time (I know) the problem with attachments has been found. Some people can upload who never reached their qouta (which I never set) and others couldn't. For those that like stats, here's the top ten list.
  • #---USER-------------Attachments----Size(KB)

    1----yoshi-----------------346--------63939.2 <-----Upload whore... LOL
    2----Gene-----------------155--------20157.58
    3----bugpac----------------97--------11454.54
    4----ProtoDie--------------67--------14958.2
    5----KWiKSand------------56--------3646.85
    6----hotwheels000-------54--------17587.29
    7----f1prerun--------------42--------3614.43
    8----rowycoracing--------41--------6636.27
    9----Kludge----------------38--------6784.42
    10--oneoddonetoo-------35-------2905.15

Yoshi and bugpac should have exoerienced problems uploading. Gene you are an admin so that makes you immune to everything, almost.

There is a bug in the script when setting the site global upload limit. Dropdown box for Bytes, KB and MB does work so the entry stored in the database is alwats KB. So imagin me setting it 500 Mb and getting 500Kb. Another issue was the per member upload limit. I have it set to zero but in the database it is set to a pecentage of the global site upload per registered users. Very weird stuff going on with the attachment mod.

All should be working now. View your profile and look at your upload qouta. It should say the total uploaded to the site plus 0% of 0% for now.

Please let me know if you still experience issues with uploading. Can't fix it if I don't know about it.

Rusty

It's rare to need a pic bigger than 640*480, if even that. The larger pics are just downright annoying, because they make you scroll around the screen just to read text. And I use a 19" LCD at 1280x1024! I can't imagine somebody with a smaller screen.

I vote that you set a size limit, and require any hi-res pics be posted off-site with links. Maybe I'll start a poll...

Who else votes for pic size limits? Don't vote if you don't want them!

Damn, this is the 3rd. site I shut down with my pic hoin, lol.

I like the big pics. I think they need to be set up so they are small like all the ones I post but you can click them to make bigger, There is alot of detail in other members pics that you can't see unless you click to make them bigger and can scroll around the pic the the part you wanna see. I don't think the pictures sshould take up the whole screen unless they are clicked on. All of my pics show up fine in the normal mode but I set them big so people can see some of the stuff I do for ideas. Bigger pics from other members have helped me to understand some of what's going on in their builds and I would be very disappointed if we lost that option.....

Not to always agree with Yoshi............but Bugpac and Yoshi have the RIGHT idea........make the pictures small then click on them to enlarge them.....I HATE when I open someones post and have to scroll right to see their full picture or read their text............just my opinion since I am not a pic hoe............

Yoshi, you didn't shut the site down and I'm not taking away pic hosting. The top list was just me showing who the top pic post whores are.

As it stands right now I can limit the size of an image but not the resolution.

Let me know If there are any problems now that the site has been moved. I went through and tested as many features as I could last night after the move and everything seems to be working.
