I have noticed some of the buggys racing over in north america do not have a Bulkhead or firewall between the engine/ fuel and the driver/ passenger. Over here (UK) the rac msa regs say you must have a steel bulkhead for all types of car racing except karts.
A buggy I raced many years ago blew off a rad hose and got me in the back of the neck through the tiny slot where the harness goes through, it would have been a lot worse with no bulkhead. Is it not a requirement over there? |

Yes it is a rule for some forms of racing. If it is a legal sanctioned event they are more likely to inforce this rule.
Where I race you are inspected. Without the fire wall you can not race Bottom line. You must have them. With smaller carts, mini buggies and racing I am not sure on what rules they use to decide. With the desert racing I do we use the SCORE rules and run fire walls front and rear. Like you both have said it's just smart to run one and safer for everyone. ![]() |
