Default sounds like the plan

There are fewer than five months until the election, an election that will decide
the next President of the United States . The person elected will > be the president
of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans. To show our solidarity
as Americans, let's all get together and show each other our support for the
candidate of our choice. It's time that we all came together, Democrats and
Republicans alike. If you support the policies and character of John McCain, please
drive with your headlights on during the day. If you support Obama, please drive
with your headlights off at night. Thank you and God Bless!

That's a pretty good idea.

At the risk of sounding serious, I don't think I can vote for either of those idiot's. Since I was old enough to vote, I have never considered voting for a Dem for president. I always agreed with the Republican more, or it was the lesser of two evils. I am done with the lesser of two evils crap. That is the reason we have the choices we have in this election.

McCain seems to be turning into a decent guy the closer we get to the election, but unlike most people I haven't been deaf and dumb for the last 20 years. I could give a rats ass what McCain has to say today, and what his positions are. I have seen what he has done for the last 15 years. WOW he wants to drill for oil now. He must be really smart. Why doesn't someone ask him what he was smoking or whose pocket he was in for the first 30 years of his career? He is always ready to reach across the isle for campaign finance reform (a joke) amnesty for illegals, and various other crap, but I have never seen him stand up for any conservative values...... And he's our hope for the future. I just can't vote for him.

Unfortunately any strong third party candidate would only serve to elect Obama. Just like big ears Perot elected Clinton in 92.

Might not be an election. Ole Bush gonna repeal the 22nd amendment and stay in. Then theres the big (huge) earth quake that is gonna disrupt everything (pretty convienient eh?) so he HAS to stay due to the emergency.

Seriously we all need to get a movement going to write in a real leader....But who?

OMG a vast right wing conspiracy! Bush is gonna use the machine he used to create Katrina to set off an earthquake? Just like the nut jobs that said Clinton was gonna repeal the 22nd.

There is like a 6% approval rating for Congress, but probably 85% of them will retain their seats. Make them vote line by line so we know who they are, instead of adding pork and everything else to the transportation bill, the Budget, the Ag bill, War funding. It's pretty convenient they can make an excuse for any vote because of other crap tacked on the bill.

I think we should be able to vote for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice candidate. 1st choice gets 3 points, 2nd 2... If 49% of the 1st votes are for dems and 49% for rep, but 75% vote 2nd for the same middle ground independent, the independent would win. Or it might be someone who lost the dem or rep primary because they are not aligned enough with party lines, yet that makes them more tolerable to those of the other party. Someone who feels very strongly about a particular candidate could just vote for the 1st position.

I have done this type of vote with places to go to lunch with a large number of people. It's better to go to a place everyone finds acceptable than a place some people love and others hate.
